This course will introduce you to the styles, production methods and service of spirits. The course includes the tasting of 16 spirit samples. You’ll also explore the main styles and types of spirits through sight, smell, and taste to develop an understanding of the key factors affecting flavours and aromas.

How to describe spirits using the WSET Level 1 Systematic Approach to Tasting Spirits® (SAT)
What Will I Need?
You do not need to have any previous qualifications, but you will need a comprehensive knowledge of English.
You will need to be aged 18 or over before starting this course, as it requires the tasting of alcoholic spirits.
How Will I Be Assessed?
This course is examined with a 45 minute multiple choice question paper consisting of 30 questions. The pass mark is 70% and the exam takes place in the last session of each course.

Successful completion of this course could enable you to progress to the Wines and Spirits - Level 2 Award or an alternative higher level course.
