This course will help you progress into work within the Health and Social Care sector, whilst improving your English skills for life, work and communication in the UK. The course follows the national standards for employability skills at Level 1, with a focus in Health and Social Care.

All applicants must have an interview and assessment to confirm that the course is suitable for them.
The employability aspect of the course is based on a portfolio. You will complete a series of assignments totalling 6 credits, which will then be internally assessed by the course tutor, internally verified by another member of staff and externally verified by NCFE. The ESOL part of the course will be assessed by a speaking and listening exam.
Entry Level, Level 1, Level 2
If you will be aged 19 or older on 31 August in the year you begin your course, and have been resident in the UK/EU/EEA for the past 3 years, your course may be free, depending on your circumstances. Some courses will have other costs associated, such as for materials and trips. This course will help you to move on to higher level courses, such as a Level 2 qualification, an apprenticeship or other employment.
